What is professional coaching and personal consulting? Who is it for and how does it work?

Coaching addresses the question: How can I accomplish more in less time despite numerous demands? A coach assists individuals in managing their focus and tracking their progress, thereby bringing them closer to their objectives more efficiently. This is achieved by providing tools, resources, affirmation, and encouragement, along with a structured framework for accountability. The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) conducted a study on accountability, revealing that committing to someone increases the likelihood of achieving a goal by 65%. Furthermore, having a specific accountability appointment with a committed individual can boost your chances of success by up to 95%.
Coaching, in essence, is a process designed to enhance an individual's performance. This personalized approach focuses on increasing the coachee's awareness of how their style and behaviors impact outcomes, leveraging their unique strengths, equipping them with new tools and strategies to achieve desired goals, and transforming or reducing unproductive behaviors. Although the process is tailored to the individual's needs, it operates within a structured framework. Essential coaching skills include effective listening, questioning, clarifying, providing feedback, and holding clients accountable. Even Bill Gates has a coach. As Bill Gates states, "Everyone needs a coach. We all need people that give us feedback. That’s how we improve."
Numerous successful people have collaborated with a coach during their careers. Oprah Winfrey is a firm advocate of coaching, and even Bill Gates has a coach. Bill Gates mentions, "Everyone needs a coach. We all require individuals who give us feedback. That’s how we get better."."
There are various types of coaches: Mindset Coaches, Executive Coaches, Leadership Coaches, and Life Coaches, each concentrating on specific areas and employing different techniques and styles. Some coaches choose to invest in coaching programs created by others, such as John Maxwell, Sandler, or Tony Robbins. Others design their own platforms using similar content to create a unique blueprint, like my professional coaching and personal consulting platform, MINDAGILITY™, which assists individuals in achieving and surpassing their goals in all aspects of life. With limited hours in a day, time management can only go so far. Through the MINDAGILITY™ platform, I assist my clients in enhancing their capacity, focusing on achieving more with less, and cultivating a performance-based mindset. With this new time and energy, I guide them in shifting gears, applying their new perspective and performance-driven mindset to their marketing communication, branding, and business development efforts, thereby adding value by impacting their bottom line.
How does it work and what should I expect?
The coaching process is generally divided into four phases: Assessment, Development, Evaluation, and Follow-Up/Maintenance. A person interested in working with a coach will usually schedule a consultation, often provided for free, and can expect an initial recommendation as a follow-up (provided the coach and candidate are a good match). This will include next steps and a preliminary plan with an estimated number of sessions. Each session usually lasts an hour, but no more than two hours, during which the coach will typically review what has occurred since the last session, discuss current topics, and outline items for the next session.
You don’t need to be Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey to afford the advantage of having a coach. Throughout my career, I’ve had coaches and mentors, and I think Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google and strong advocate of coaching, puts it perfectly: “Every famous athlete, every famous performer has somebody who’s a coach. The one thing that people are never good at is seeing themselves as others see them. A coach really, really helps."Everyone - regardless of how successful they may already be - can gain from coaching in some aspect of their life.
